Tom Cipullo’s powerful opera, based on the life of Colonel Jim Thompson, the longest-held POW in U.S history, is a timely reflection on the cost of war, both in lives lost and in lives changed forever.

Each performance will be followed by a talk-back session with the creative team and audience.

Presented in partnership with Prizm Ensemble.

Poulenc’s tale of topsy-turvy gives new meaning to the question, “How can a woman be more like a man?”

Each performance will be paired with Le boeuf sur le toit, by Darius Millhaud.  This piece, written around the same time as our opera, will be danced by Festival Partner, New Ballet Ensemble.
