Elixir of Love presented at Germantown Performing Arts Centre.

Donizetti's comic masterpiece features all the comedy one expects from an opera buffa, but matched with the exquisitely heart-felt "Una Furtiva Lagrima" and "Prendi." Sarah Shafer, fresh from her debut at Glyndebourne Festival Opera sings Adina, with American tenor Brendan Tuohy as Nemorino.  Metropolitan Opera singer Ricardo Lugo sings the wily Dr. Dulcamara and Jordan Shanahan (Barber of Seville) returns as the oafish Belcore.  David Hayes of the Philadelphia Orchestra makes his Memphis debut as conductor.
