Opera Memphis’ Fifth Annual MIDTOWN OPERA FESTIVAL takes place over ten days at Playhouse on the Square. It will feature three intimate operas by living American composers: John Musto's Later the Same Evening, Jake Heggie's Three Decembers, and Hilliard & Boresi's Blue Viola. In addition, we'll present a one-of-a-kind performance of Arnold Scheonberg's groundbreaking Pierrot Lunaire, art directed by Memphis' own Joey Miller. Add aerialists, dance performances, panel discussions, cabaret and cocktails, and we have the makings of an incredible fifth year in the herat of Memphis!

This season's Midtown Opera Festival will also feature workshop performances of our newest commission-in-progress, allowing our patrons to be part of the creative process like never before!
