Later the Same Evening was inspired by five Edward Hopper paintings: "Room in New York," "Hotel Window," "Hotel Room," "Two on the Aisle" and "Automat." This opera imagines the lives of a few of his characters. We the moments before and after the ones captured on canvas, as all of these story lines converge at a Broadway show one rainy night in 1932.
