Improv artists Jillian Barron and Laurel George take your favorite opera and show you what happened to the characters after the curtain went down. Fast-paced, totally made up, and non-musical, this improv show is opera like you've never seen it before. Drinks will be available for purchase during the show. Jillian Barron began performing improv in 2009 as a member of the Illinois All-State Improv Team. She then went on to train at The Second City and emcee/perform in the 2009 High School Improv Festival in Chicago, IL. From 2010-2012, Jillian was a member and captain of her university's improv troupe and facilitated numerous improv performances on and off campus. She joined improv troupe We Are Vanessa in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2015 and trained/performed extensively in short-form, long-form, and street character improv. In 2017, Jillian was invited to teach improv masterclasses at the Tennessee Thespian Conference in Nashville, TN, and has continued teaching improv around Memphis, TN.
Laurel George has studied and performed on a Harold team at iO Chicago as well as studying at The Second City and Annoyance Theater in Chicago, IL. While there, she was a founding member/Director for Funny Bones Improv. In Pittsburgh, she performed on 2 house teams at Arcade Comedy Theatre and created/produced her 2-person improv show at Steel City Improv. In Tulsa, she coached and taught while serving as producer and creator of 2 improv teams that are still performing. Laurel is a current member of the Memphis improv troupe Bluff City Liars.
