Camerata’s season events were designed with the young Opera Memphis patron in mind. Throughout the season we aim to host events that bring together opera lovers and novices—so whether you are an opera veteran or are thinking of coming to your very first opera, we have something for you. Our events are built around each of Opera Memphis’ mainstage productions and offer opportunities to socialize and network with other Memphians who share a passion for arts and opera.

Opera Memphis will kick off its 2018-2019 season with Puccini’s classic Madama Butterfly. Camerata members will gather an hour and a half before the performance to picnic, socialize, and mingle. Bring your own picnic or enjoy food available for purchase from a local food truck. Camerata will celebrate the start of the season with a champagne toast and a brief opera overview by Ned Canty, General Director of Opera Memphis.
Pinafore Party Bus
Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera tells the love story of Josephine and Ralph and their journey aboard the H.M.S. Pinafore. To prepare ourselves for this voyage on a Royal Navy ship, Camerata members will meet in Midtown for dinner before boarding a party bus for Germantown Performing Arts Center. The party bus will take us back to Midtown following the performance.
MOF – Closing Cast Party
Camerata will help Opera Memphis wrap up the season by hosting the Closing Cast Party following the final performance of The Falling and the Rising. Written by Memphian Jerre Dye, this opera tells the stories of U.S. military veterans and will be be performed in Midtown Memphis at Playhouse on the Square. The party will follow immediately after the performance and will be held in Playhouse’s Theatre Cafe space.
