Bear Hug/Abrazo de Oso is a bilingual children's opera and tells the story of four bears - all from different countries with different appearances and languages - who discover that we are all more alike than we are unalike! With an engaging plot and lively music from traditional Spanish operas (zarzuela), Bear Hug delivers a good time and a timely moral that our hearts are the same despite outward differences.
The opera will be sung in Spanish and English, and will be performed by a quartet of Opera Memphis' most talented local singers - the same people you see on our stage! Opera Memphis will provide a study guide.
